Chepchumba top scored for Kenya as she registered 13 points
National women's volleyball team Malkia Strikers suffered a second defeat in pool A of the ongoing FIVB World Championships in Netherlands after falling 3-0 (25-15,25-14 and 25-11) to Belgium on Saturday afternoon.
Malkia, had opened the campaign with another 3-0 loss to the hosts last Friday at the Geldredome Arena and will face their African bitter rivals Cameroon on Tuesday.
Sharon Chepchumba top scored for the Kenyan girls as she managed thirteen points with Noel Murambi notching in five points. Middle blocker Edith Wisa was Kenya's best scorer in the opener against the Dutch women.
Belgian Herbots Britt was the overall best scorer in the match having managed sixteen points while skipper Van Gestel Celine recorded twelve points.
Cameroon, lost to European champions Italy on straight sets in their opening game and are set to take on the hosts later in the day.
Following the result, Belgium top pool A with six points having won their opening two matches. Italy sit second with three points, a tally similar to that of Netherlands while Puerto Rico are fourth.
